Types of Massage

Swedish

Swedish massage is a light or gentle means of releasing stress, anxiety, and built-up tension in the muscles. Often described as relaxing the body and calming to the mind. It’s a good reset before or after immersing your self into the Islands numerous activities.

Deep tissue

Deep Tissue massage uses a medium to heavy pressure for addressing built up musical tension, pain, and structural issues. This type of massage addresses the deeper muscle groups in the body promoting both blood and fluid movement in those over worked areas.

Mayo facial release

Mayo Facial Release is a gentle yet deeper means of treating trigger points or knots in the facial tissue. Trapped toxin and decreased blood flow cause the muscles to hold tension and not release. It is used to encourage fluid movement and promote cleansing of the muscle groups found throughout your body.

Sports

Sports massage is often used before and after a particular sporting event. It is also used to address specific soft tissue and muscle group injuries caused by repetitive sprains or strains related to sports. Maintaining balance in the muscle groups in a major part of avoiding sports related injuries.

Reflexology

Reflexology is used to identify and access reflex points found in the feet, hands, and head. Connective tissue runes throughout the body like guywires sending messages back and forth so it can hold up your skeleton. Imbalances in the system can be felt and addressed in the feet, hands, and head. Clients often say they can feel different parts of their body relax as the foot or hands are massaged.

Cupping

Cupping is part of ancient Chinese medicine and helps stimulate blood flow, release toxins, and open up the body’s meridians. As the blood begins to flow healing can begin.

Acupressure

Acupressure’s origins are found in Ancient Asia and Egypt. This noninvasive method is quite gentle while still addressing long term pain and discomfort. Acupressure is similar to Acupuncture and Shiatsu in addressing blockages in the natural flow of blood, fluid, and energy throughout the body.

Hot Stone

Hot stone is often used for stress relief, muscle tension, and promoting good sleep. The stone’s natural ability to hole and emit heat helps warm the muscles and connective tissue enabling them to relax. Hot Stones are a nice addition to a massage on those days when a little heat would feel incredible.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a softer type of massage. This traditional Asian massage uses a custom tool designed specifically for this massage. Gua Sha is used to address the soft tissues of the dermis and the underlying muscle structure. This approach helps ease headaches, stiffness, tension, and discomfort. This is a great massage if you want to feel refreshed and up lifted before the evening or day’s activities. Endless benefits because of the way it stimulates blood flow and relaxation.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

The Cranium, Spinal Column, and the Sacrum play a major part in our bodies over all health both physically and spiritually. We have found several of the holds very effective at reducing built up tension. Studies show that it promotes the natural flow of the body’s spinal/cranial fluid and increases the bodies energy flow. Spiritually it tends to relax a person enabling them to easily move into a state of meditation or deep self-reflection.

Clothes On Massage

There are numerous ways to relieve pain, stress, and anxiety without removing your cloths. Medium, light, or heavy pressure can be used depending on the client’s preference in massage. Those under 18 or have limited movement will benefit greatly without having to remove your clothing.
